Promoting Ventures

Ventures are great fun, and people keep coming back year after year, but not everyone knows how good they are and why they should go too. We need to tell them!

We are delighted at the number of people who come back to us year after year - well over half of our members each year have previously been on a Venture. So there is a good news story to tell, and the most powerful advocates for Ventures are our members. But sometimes they need a little help to share what a great time people have on a Venture, which is where you can help us.

Why promote Ventures?

Ventures offer children and young people the opportunity of having a life-changing holiday, and while we welcome over 4,000 members every year, there is always room for more! Personal recommendation is the reason most people come on a Venture, so another family member, a friend or someone from their youth group or church talking about Ventures is hugely important in someone coming for the first time.

We have thousands of members and supporters throughout the UK - with your help we can tell thousands more people each year about Ventures!

Why me?

We want to harness the enthusiasm and support of as wide a range of people as possible, members and supporters such as leaders and parents. As someone who already has experience of Ventures, you can speak with authority, and you and others like you have excellent local contacts and relationships in churches and youth groups across the country. It's really helpful for people to know that there is someone they can talk to about Ventures - even if it's just to find out who else might be thinking about going.

We're not asking you to organise a group, although we'd be delighted if you wanted to. Our first aim is just to ask people to be willing to speak up for Ventures. We're really grateful to those who do.

What do I have to do?

You can help us share the Ventures message in your church or group - perhaps you can display a poster and some brochures, or put a notice in your church news sheet. And you don't have to do it on your own! If other people in your church or group have experience of Ventures, we hope they will be happy to help you share the message.

Who should I talk to?

Please talk to young people, parents, youth groups, church congregations... anyone who might be interested. We've got a few resources for you to use and ideas to help you, which can be used in small groups, or church services, or even just amongst friends.
