One week of theatre workshops to devise a performance of words, music, dance and physicality for a unique show: imagine and express your ideas about life and faith with dramatic twists and turns. Plus ridiculous games, indoor swims, outdoor trips and occasional minutes of mayhem. Stage-Fright encourages children to think creatively for themselves and with others. Take a look at our website. Stage-Fright 1 will be running alongside its big sister Venture Stage-Fright 2: same dates, same site, different age groups. (See below for practical implications.)

All our leaders enjoy a creative approach to expressing their faith. We're a vibrant mix of arts specialists and good honest youth work volunteers. Although Stage-Fright 1 and 2 we'll be sharing the same site, both will be running as separate Ventures with distinct teams and nearly all activities happening in separate spaces around the site.
Dormitories have up to 8 beds in each - all in the main building. The food is great and there's plenty of it :) The Stage Fright 1 and 2 dorms are all in the same building, but bedrooms for each age-group will be separate.
Stage-Fright is for those with an artistic or creative nature who want to explore and express faith in a variety of ways - in particular, by working towards a performance on a spiritual theme at the end of the week. Everyone gets involved in theatre workshops each morning. Afternoons are for other creative options and a wide variety of frankly ridiculous games. We come together for devotional sessions twice a day, encouraging everyone to think about faith for themselves and respond in their own way. For SF1 and 2 all activities will be tailored carefully by each team to the relevant age-group, as always. One occasion when the two gropups will definitely come together is the final performance at the end of the week, when we know all our members will be keen to support each other's creativity.
We make our home for the week at St Hugh's School in the small town of Woodhall Spa, deepest Lincolnshire - it is worth the long journey! Onsite facilities include the main hall with stage, indoor swimming pool, large playing field, large sports hall and an assault course.
