The Holiday:
Bridgwater 1 is an amazing 4-night houseparty, full of fun, games, activities and challenges. We’ve come up with great ideas to create a brilliant summer holiday for those who have completed school years 3-8. Bring your friends and you will make loads of new friends too. We will have an awesome time learning about God – with really fun sessions to help you think about what you believe. We have great facilities, a swimming pool, woods, sports fields, a bonfire, excellent food and chill-time too.
The Location :
Bridgwater takes place at Hill House Christian Centre – a wonderful place set in 15 acres of woodland and fields. The centre is about 15 minutes' drive from the M5.
All of our activities take place on site which offers everything we need for a great houseparty. There are loads of opportunities for outside games, an open air swimming pool and there's also a purpose built bonfire site where the traditional Bridgwater bonfire is held!
Dorms are various sizes up to a maximum of 9 beds – and these are all proper beds – no bunks at all. The meeting room and dining room accommodate the whole houseparty and there are two lounges and an indoor sports hall too.
The Activities and The Programme:
At Bridgwater you will have an amazing programme of activities every day including swimming, field games, a woodland challenge and an assault course.
We have two meetings each day: Good Morning Bridgwater – a short time together which sets up the day. Our Evening Meeting is where you will learn more about our awesome God and you will be involved in it in a very special way. You will get a chance to be in worship workshops where you will develop your own ideas for drama, dance, music and visual work to help us all understand more about God’s love for us.
There will be chill time too when you and your friends can make use of the great facilities inside and outside Hill House – whether that’s chatting in the lounge, visiting the tuckshop, walking around the beautiful grounds, playing rounders or doing some cool crafts.
We have an amazing after-hours programme – including quizzes, games, the stunning Bridgwater bonfire, special themed meals and barn dance.
The Team:
David White, Helen Pattinson, Catharine Turton and Paul Evans are the Overall Leaders. They are all involved with youth and children's work in their own churches and at Bridgwater - and committed to sharing the good news about Jesus. Between them they have many, many years' experience running camps and houseparties! Their favourite thing about Bridgwater is meeting all the members – getting to know them and making sure everyone makes friends and has loads of fun.
The team will be at least 30 leaders giving us great ratios for small groups. Many of our leaders were members once themselves! The team are committed to giving members an amazing time and to keeping everyone safe and happy.
We have our own team of cooks, meaning that we have great food and can meet the needs of the fussiest eaters!
