The Holiday:
We might be at a new site, we may have new activities to delve into, but the same fantastic Knock Venture family warmly welcomes you to Ripon. Get ready to take things up a gear this year, in more ways than one. We’re talking an on-site swimming pool, a giant sports hall and some fresh and creative ways of learning about our friend Jesus on this beautiful site at Ripon Grammar School. A warm welcome awaits and we can’t wait to see you!
The Location :
Ripon is situated in North Yorkshire. A hop, skip and a jump in any direction and you’re in the stunning Dales countryside. There are beautiful walks on our doorstep including the picturesque Studley Royal Park. Ripon Grammar School has everything we need: if the multiple 3G pitches are too wet, we can use the large indoor sports hall; there’s lots of common rooms for those who like table tennis and pool, and let’s not forget a swimming pool to use! Our home for the week is cosy indoor bedrooms, each of which sleep 3 to 6 people. To help feel at home, you will bring your own bedding, so choose a favourite duvet or a snuggly sleeping bag, a sheet and a pillow for a great night’s sleep in wonderful Ripon.
The Activities and The Programme:
Come and join us for an adventure filled week. With our friends Rock UK, you will take part in a range of outdoor activities (in previous years we have been rock climbing, paddle boarding and had a go at archery); with our sporty leaders, you will have lots of opportunities for wide games, sports and an epic walk; and with our creative leaders, you will have the chance to get arty and create music. Amidst all this fun, you will spend time learning together, in fun filled ways, about the incredible adventure Jesus invites you on.
The Team:
Our leaders are a big family- lots of generations and life experiences but all united by the same God and passion. A passion for loving Jesus and a desire to spread the Gospel to young people. The Overall Leader names you see on the website came to faith on camp and that drives everything we do. We have lots of experience in running a Venture too. In fact, some of us were children ourselves when we first got involved all those years ago….. now that’s a great advert, don’t you think?!
