The Holiday:
Whether it’s relaxing on the lawns, taking a dip in the pool, getting competitive on the Astroturf, being creative in the craft room or enjoying the evening entertainment, there’s something for everyone at Lakeview Senior. At the heart of the week are daily talks exploring aspects of the Christian faith. We’d love you to come especially if you’ve never been before and it's' a brilliant holiday to bring a friend to!
The Location :
Royal Alexandra and Albert School with its three lakes, serpentine and 260 acres of parkland provides the ideal setting for our Venture. Just off the M25, the school has its own indoor swimming pool as well as grass pitches, floodlit netball courts, Astroturf pitch, sprints track and performing arts centre. It should be an amazing week for all! We stay in a boarding house in dormitories between 2-8 people. There are separate blocks for boys and girls, each with plenty of good bathroom facilities close to the dormitories. The leaders stay in dormitories near the teenagers' rooms and there is plenty of space to chill out other than in dormitories too.
The Activities and The Programme:
Days are usually spent on-site making the most of the excellent facilities, including a swimming pool, astroturf, grass pitches and craft room. We have lots of exciting things planned to make use of the amazing grounds. We also have (sometimes messy) team games, time to chill, baking and board games. As we run over GCSE results day, our leaders who are teachers will put on a 'results surgery' for anyone who needs help making plans following their results. In the past this has worked really well to both support those with disappointments and celebrate with those who are pleased!
The Team:
Our Overall Leaders, Nick and Rich, are both in full time ministry and have many years' experience organising Lakeview. Our wider leadership team reflects a great mix of personalities and professions and quite a lot of them started coming along to Lakeview as teenagers and have loved it so much they’ve kept coming back! We also have a great team of assistant leaders who support in all kinds of things and train up to be our leaders of the future. All of us are excited about a great week to have fun and find out more about Jesus together.
