The Holiday:
Falcons are affordable, safe and exciting holidays for young people facing challenging circumstances. They give young people an opportunity to make friends, experience new things and have fun. They will engage in exciting activities and have the chance to explore life with Jesus. Falcons are subsidised and extra discounts may be available, so cost is not a barrier. The Location :
We will be staying at West Hill Park School which is normally a boarding school, but becomes our amazing home for the summer. We have got loads of great facilities onsite: we have our very own swimming pool; tennis courts; some woods; a fab sports hall and loads of other indoor and outdoor space; there’s even a riding school with ponies next door!
You and your friends will share a room, with plenty of space for your things, warm showers, and a comfy bed for the end of a long day.
West Hill is close to Southampton, which means we are near the sea, and plenty of other places to visit on fun trips.
The Activities and The Programme:
This is your holiday, so you get to pick your favourite things to do. You may want to go to crazy golf, bake a cake or visit the seaside. When you arrive you get to choose the trips and activities you’d like to do, and each morning there are different options of sports, crafts, games and other fun activities. Our highlight at the end of the week is Falcon Fest - our very own festival with henna, mocktails, inflatables and more.
We eat together each day, and our meals are made by a fantastic team of cooks. We recommend the chocolate brownies! We take some time each day to find out more about Jesus together – sometimes we watch a drama, sing together or hear someone’s story. You are welcome whether you are a Christian, don’t believe in God, or don’t know what you believe. Nobody has to join in if they don’t want to. We end the day laughing, watching leaders do silly challenges, and showcasing our hidden talents.
The Team:
The holiday is run by a big, friendly group of volunteers. We are different ages, have different jobs, and all enjoy doing different things, but are united with a passion to follow Jesus and love God.
Our leaders are there to help you have a brilliant time. You can let them know if you’ve forgotten something or need to call home – they are kind and good at listening.
