The Holiday:
To book onto this Venture, please contact the Bookings Contact. Please note that priority is given to those from sending churches connected to this holiday. Hope Cumbria 1 returns to the Lake District for 2026! We’re planning a fantastic week for our younger members aged 11–14. Stunning scenery, great food, adventures and time to discover more about Jesus. Enjoy climbing, walking, high ropes and raft building. Lively sessions with dorm challenges, laughter and Bible teaching to grow your faith.
The Location :
Our base for the week is the Castle Head Field Studies Centre, which is an activity based outdoor education centre, near Grange-over-Sands on the edge of the beautiful lake District National Park. You'll stay in well-appointed dorms of eight to ten beds with all bedding provided. Bathrooms and showers are nearby. Plenty of inside space to relax. If you are coming with a friend or in a group from church we will try to keep you together in the same dorm if we can. Castle Head is a secure site with a wide range of challenging activities and plenty of space to explore. We have the site all to ourselves throughout our stay. The centre is just off of the A590 near Grange-over-Sands and members can be collected from Grange-over-Sands train station if required.
The Activities and The Programme:
Breath-taking scenery, fabulous food, amazing experiences and plenty of time to learn about Jesus. Walk up mountains, climb on rocks, high ropes and raft building. Plenty of time for trips out and down-time back at base. Central meetings packed with dorm challenges, fun, excitement and Bible teaching to grow your faith and help you think. Please note that the use of mobile phones for members is limited to a short time each day and not allowed overnight.
The Team:
Our Hope Cumbria leaders come from all over the country and are committed to making sure our members have a fantastic week. The experienced team are led by Andy and Amanda Brewerton. Andy and Amanda live in Cannes in the South of France where Andy is the Anglican Chaplain of Holy Trinity Church. They are joined by an experienced group of Overall Leaders across the two ventures, and a wonderful team of venture leaders.
